    good to know about paravas from your article. i like to point out that , the song ‘elee keechan vanthachu’ song itself is written wrongly.
    keechan is a fresh water fish. paravas don’t eat fresh water or river water fish. they eat only sea water fish.
    in olden days, eating ‘aamai’ is a sin and who ever eats , wont allowed to enter the village.
    ofcourse No pork and No beef because you know, they were once hindus.
    and now a days people dont follows these customs.

    Thanks for your input. Yes, I was aware of this fresh water fish Keechan. Some of the cultural exactness is lost in the lyrics. But, I did find it interesting that the Tamil/Portugese term “Eley” was used here for the song.
